This article explores the evolving landscape of contemporary literature through the lens of digital narratives and interactive storytelling. Digital literature is transforming how we create, experience and share stories. Digital media probed the transition from page turners to navigators of web pages through endlessly connected hypertexts, as reading has moved from papyrus to print to digital media. Douglas Engelbart quoted, “The digital revolution is far more significant than the invention of writing or even of printing.” Today digital narratives, especially hypertext literature has given the readers a medium to engage with the text in a more personalized and exploratory way. Unlike traditional books with a fixed beginning and ending, hypertext literature uses hyperlinks to connect different parts of the text, allowing the readers to navigate through the story using their own path. This study seeks to demonstrate how digital narratives and interactive storytelling will be instrumental in reshaping the future of literary form and the involvement of reader in this increasingly digital world.
