Kautilya’s Arthashastra is a timeless insight of knowledge which encompasses significant inclusion of management practices and principles that are widely applied in contemporary organizations by managers. The treatise highlights strong leadership, decision-making, strategic planning, ethical conduct and financial prudence. Kautilya’s thoughts and ways of dealing were so rational and gratifying that it still holds good in modern complex settings. The text includes principles for nurturing potential and developing employees aligning with modern HR practices. The present study assimilates various perceptions and descriptions regarding significance of Kautilya’s treatise in modern organizations offered by scholars of various times.
