This study explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and online gaming on youngsters' social behavior and academic performance through the lens of the Uses and Gratifications theory. Focusing on youngsters aged 17 to 19, it aims to investigate how AI-driven online gaming influences social behavior and academic outcomes. A sample of 100 adolescents from various colleges (Coimbatore) participated in the study, with data collected through structured surveys administered via Google Forms. By analyzing existing literature and survey responses, the study examines correlations between AI and online gaming habits with social behaviors. Additionally, it assesses the impact of these activities on academic performance. The findings reveal both positive and negative effects, indicating that while AI-enhanced online platforms and games offer educational and social benefits, excessive use can lead to detrimental effects on mental health and academic achievement. The study concludes with recommendations for fostering balanced AI usage and gaming habits, emphasizing the need for educational strategies and social support to mitigate potential risks.
